Hello blog world!
We decided to make a date change! And although I was originally not sure if we should, I am now super excited about it. By pushing the wedding back by only a few months we can get married on our 7 year anniversary!! How crazy is that??
This will be a million times better for us because...
A. I will have almost a year of working after my graduate school ends to settle into my new job
B. We can choose where we are living based on where I get a job and really focus on the house hunt instead of having all these big decisions at once
C. I won't have to take my licencing exam in the same 2 weeks as the wedding
D. It's our 7 year anniversary!!
Honestly I think it's silly we ever had a different date to begin with. This is so much better!
Happily,
Heather

Alright, so...
Alright, so I made a mistake.
And it was a big one.
But before I get to that I have to say one thing: It's exactly 17 months until our wedding!!! Woo!
Anyway.. .
I got all excited and ahead of myself and thought it was a great idea to start a blog about wedding crafts. Good idea, right?
Wrong. Because as I've been crafting and planning and having fun, I realized an important thing about weddings and specifically the unique aspects that are put into weddings. They're supposed to be a surprise!
So while I have been starting to plan, I can't exactly share my ideas and projects just yet. Because then it'll be all out in the open and everyone will know the little details of my wedding. Which is exactly what I don't want.
So sorry everyone about my craziness. It's in my nature to get ahead of myself. Really.
I will have some fun things to talk to you about in the meantime! Dan and I have visited a few towns we may move to, and he did make our cat an AWESOME scratching post. I also have the bridesmaids gifts up and ready to share as soon as I give them to the girls. So don't worry for one second. It'll all be okay.
Embarrassed,
Heather

Paint the Town
Hello!
Because we A) Don't have a house yet and B) Don't have a wedding venue yet, I can't blog much about the crafts we are doing for each. We don't have any reason to craft yet!
So I thought show you all our wedding colors!
Dan and I had decided not to make our wedding themed in any way because we wanted the wedding to be just about us. Therefore, we didn't have to stick to any specific color scheme and are able to do whatever we want.
After a fun date spending hours in the paint aisle at Lowes, here's what we came up with...
We chose these colors because my favorite color is yellow and Dan likes blue and gray. Luckily, the three colors go great together!
I love that we chose our colors together because its important to me that our wedding, future home, and essentially everything else is a reflection of both of us. So I'm happy Dan stuck with me in that darn paint aisle. ; )
Right now, we're thinking about using the gray for the tuxes and accents, yellow for the bridesmaids, and blue for the flowers and accents. We'll see!
That's all for now!

The Wonderful World of Bridal Shows
Hello : )
This has nothing to do with DIY but...
Today, Dan and I received an exciting call! We won a vacation from a bridal show! There are over 20 places we can choose as long as we sit through what I am sure will be a excruciatingly boring presentation. Although, I believe it will be all about dishes and cookware, which is right up my alley! : )
And that's not all! We will receive $1000 worth of coupons! Which is just perfect because I am currently reading "Pick Another Checkout Line, Honey" which describes all the ins and outs of being a crazy coupon lady. Fate, right?
For all we know, it might be spam, but for the meantime, I am very excited!
I'll keep you all posted!

And so it begins...
Hi all,
I'm very excited to be starting a blog! Dan and I love anything DIY and have been talking since we met about furnishing and decorating our house with things we've made. Now that we're getting married and looking into getting our first place, we finally have the opportunity we've been waiting for! Unfortunately, I have nothing prepared to post today, but here are a few things that will be coming soon:
- Dan is in the process of making a new scratching post for our cat, Hunter
- I will be making fun gifts to ask my girls to be bridesmaids (I clearly can't give you any more details until later)
- Tons of wedding and home crafts! I am especially excited about programs, centerpieces, and invitations
That's all I need to say for now. Happy DIY-ing!
